So, I go to the Kenny Woods Gun Show in Lexington this morning...I was an early bird and one of the first through the doors. The second booth I came to, I was browsing through the Smith & Wesson M&P's and notice the gun that I've been wanting for months but have not been able to find anywhere...the new S&W M&P Shield 9mm single stack carry pistol. Oh, baby...told the guy I'll take it and he laughed. Said "I figured that would be the first one I sold today. First one I've been able to get for months." While I'm filling out the paperwork, two other guys offer me more for the gun than I'm paying for it...one offered me $100 more. I was tempted, but I've really wanted this gun bad. I work through the rest of the show and get stopped a dozen times by people wanting to buy it. Turns out, it's the only one at the show...and fat daddy here snagged it. haha.
Anyway, the show is packed...looked like people throwing cash around right and left. I've been going to these for years and I heard more talk than ever, just listening to people in the crowd, about Obama...how he is going to get re-elected...and how he'll be a real pain in his second term when he doesn't have to worry about re-election. Hmmph. At a gun show, it's about as conservative red-state as you can get...didn't expect to hear people that thought Obama was a lock.
So then, I have to stop by the mall...which I hate...and I stop by the food court to eat a sammich. I hear these two teenage Jonas Brothers looking nimrods in front of me in line talking about how Obama was awesome. Then, be danged if I'm not sitting there eating and hear these other two guys (dressed like they work construction) having a conversation about how it was so busy at the mall, the economy looked pretty good here, and that they thought they ought to vote for Obama so as not to take a chance on screwing any of these good times up. Huh???
I've never heard so much political chatter...and it wasn't about Mitt. It was about Obama. This only strengthens my feeling that this turd is going to get re-elected come November. Ugh.
The debates are looming as Mitt's last chance to make something happen.
