I just completed my first rod building project on a St. Croix SC5 blank with the same specs you describe. I believe that this blank will be a great jig fishing rod. Should get to break it in this weekend. It is rated down to 3/8 OZ but the action I would rate as faster than most fast rated actions so I don't know how well I'll do with 3/8 OZ jigs.
