For years it was made in america for me, zenith TVs, Troy built garden and lawn stuff, and american out board motors[started with a martin, remember them? Someone stole my ted williams out board, [it wasn't working], my insurance company sent me a check[state farm]. I couldn't afford an american replacementm bought an unknown brand [honda] it was a four stroke, and loved it, sold it to a friend who had it for years, and he sold it.Bought a new year old yamaha, 2 cycle, best thing I ever bought. Then listened to my cousin the semi pro fishermen, and got a merc, and then the diappointment started. Yeah I bought another merc, made in china, inspected in china, and its working darn good[4 stroke], Went through 3 troy built string trimmers in two days[made in mexico] finally went and got a husqvarna,American named crap, made over seas. Most epedable car I ever owned A VW beetle, the only import, my trucks were ford[disasters] a GM pretty ggod, a chevy diesel,[night mare], and my current silverado.

Ooops, now I know why we stopped at Tumbleweed on the way home from the dealer lot. :-)
mine is a 1, My first pick up, an f150. 1990 i forgot about it. That was one tough truck,I sold it to a guy and I had better than 150,000 miles on it,it was the inline 6, that they quit making[because it woulsn't quit], and burned less than a qt between changes. Many of there were high speed boat towing miles.I only sold it because while there were only two of us, we had three vechicles. I remember once in upper michigan, _21 below, and it cranked right up, and got me home to indiana. Yeah it sucked gas, had a small tank, but it was the best selling american vechicle that year, how did they manage to improve on that?
Okay, I'll confess. Check this 1975 monster out. Had it for 9 years till the big block finally died at 170000 miles. Hauled 5 adults and all the luggage and coolers you could think to take along. No speedster, but a torque monster that loved to spend time at gas stations. Course, gas was about 75 cents a gallon then.mine is a 1, My first pick up, an f150. 1990 i forgot about it.
