you guys talk about most anything on here, I don't remember seeing a Woodworking topic. I like to work with wood, I have a little wood working shop. I take it in spells, it will keep me busy for a while, and I'll lose interest in doing it for awhile. I have over the years built some of the furnishings in our house. my Daughter got married last November and bought a house with a fireplace. it had just a 3" thick board fasten to the fireplace brick, for a Mantel piece. I thought it was time to build her a real Mantel. so yesterday I built her one. still like sanding it and spraying it with a coat of Antique White paint. don't know if this will work or not, but I'll try to post a picture of the Mantel I built. this one is without the sanding and finish coat of paint. if this works, I'll post another picture of the finished product. if there's any woodworkers on here, post some of your work with pictures. should make for some good reading.
