    Appreciate the ones you love

Mrs. Tyme had a slip and fall in our home this recent Thursday and the result is that she suffered a cracked kneecap.
She has been advised by the doctor to keep her leg straight and is wearing a brace. Follow up is in two weeks to see if the crack has widened or is stable.

I have therefore been thrust into the roll she occupied, namely; Cooking, cleaning, laundry, morning dog walking, dish washing, etc. It's now that I realize what an effort she has been exerting all these years. I'm worn out and it's only been 5 days of me assuming these chores. My limited cooking skills are being put to the test. So far, nothing fancy. Bacon and eggs for breakfast. Burgers and fries (home cooked) for dinner. I did cook spaghetti one night. Fish (which I'm great cooking) and rice. Hey,she can stand on one leg and cook!! What's her problem. I'll fetch the ingredients so she doesn't have to hop on one leg.

Saturday morning I assisted her (I did it) in putting on her left sock. Remember that she's not supposed to bend her leg. OK,I got that done. Then she asked me to put her under-wear on. Folks, I've had years of experience in taking those things off, but I think this was the first time ever that I actually put them on!!

I'm not sure who is missing the healthy wife worse, me or the dog. She would take our son's beagle out every morning and run with him. I don't exactly run with him but we do perform a rapid pace with me holding the 25 foot leash. Once that hound hits a rabbit trail all heck breaks lose with him on the trail. Sorry to side-track the story but both beagle and Tyme hope the wife gets well soon.

    All my crap aside.

I wish her a speedy and painless recovery.

Next. Call me and pick the night, give me just 4 hours advanced notice. I will stop by the restaurante of your choice, call you from there, pick up the meal you and she wish to eat, and deliver it to your door step. On me.

All I need is a call, (270)735-7814, and address, and your choice of menu and restaurante.

Been there done that, and you sir deserve a break today. :-)

PS: If you live in Clarksville and like Buckheads, it will be a no brainer for me :-)

    know the feeling

tyme,my first wife had a stroke, was paralized on her left side, she lived that way for over 5 yrs.I worked, and took care of her, she became a little more independent as time went by. I'm a fair cook, good with laundry to this day. There were some embarasing situations, byt she had a fairly good sense of humor. The kids voluntered to help, but I told them this could ruin your lives, and we spent way to much on their education to let it go to waste. It makes a real man out of you, in the eyes of your kids, but it wont impress the dogs much, never did ours!

I wish Mrs Tyme a speedy recovery. Yes I appreciate my loved ones, I've lost most of them, might be why I'm a little bitter sometime. My wife is meaner than three snakes sometimes but I love her more than words can say. I would also be one lost Beagle pup without her to. I don't tell her that much but she knows it.

Hey Robert if you need something man, send me a PM and I'll help you anyway I can. Maybe you, Bob and I can drink Woodford and solve some world problems sometime.....

Robert, you take good care of Mrs. Dar and tell her I said I hope she has a speedy recovery. My wife had knee surgery a year ago so I can sort of relate to your predicament. I was in a little different situation, since I work out of the house I do almost all of the cooking and some cleaning, so that was not a change. Her short term disability was only a fraction of what she normally makes, so we missed her income. I ALMOST had to get a real job!

Wow. I am absolutely stunned and amazed by the response from everyone.

Hurricane Bob: I truly appreciate your generous offer but so far I am getting by. Maybe in two weeks I'll change my mind and give you a call. Thank you so very much.

Mark: That is a fantastic idea. Are we talking about a small bottle of Woodford or the big daddy bottle? We have three unoccupied bedrooms if we decide to drink the big bottle and y'all can spend the night and not drive home drunk. I'll have to tie Mrs. Tyme in the bed to keep her away from the bottle. She has enough trouble now trying to hobble around. Two drinks of hard liquor and she starts to talk in Chinese.

Thanks again to all. It really lightens my spirits (and Mrs.Tyme's too) to have your support.

Maybe we can get Geofisher involved in this. I'll go down to the democratic party headquarters and get some Obama stickers and when y'all are drunk I'll sneak outside and paste them to your bumpers!! Darn, I think I might have just ruined my chances for some free Woodford.
