Just got back yesterday from a Fri-Tues stay at Jamestown. Water temps anywhere from 71-68 degrees, depending on location. Marked fish but still pretty scattered. Fished exclusively with shiners on slow troll. Not much luck considering three full days of fishing. Saw jumps on the flats at the point just outside of the Jamestown no-wake zone first thing in the morning, between first light and sunrise. Also saw jumps in the mouth of Indian at about 10:30 a.m. ET. Wife got her first striper via casting Hopkins spoon into a jump. She's caught several stripers by never with the rod in hand when it gets hit. Made her weekend.
Minimal traffic due to cold forecast. Nice having the lake to yourself and fishermen. Most of the others are gone. Did see three misquitoes (wave runners) so their not all gone yet. Marina hours and services are now getting into the winter mode so call before, don't get caught assuming they are open with bait and/ or food.
