    HURRICANEBOB Guest
Wife and I are coming down 28 Oct thru about 1 Nov, out of Jamestown. Cold front will be interesting. I promise to let you all know what's going on while there. Apologize for the spelling in advance as working off the phone keypad will be tough with cold fingers. We're gonna focus on jumps, and I want to experiment with pulling Shad swimbaits under boards. Wish I was there this week with the temps being so cooperative.

But with a name like Hurricanebob, who would ever expect me to catch fish when the sun was out??????

This will be my first year targeting stripers and I've just gotten my boat set up with the right rod holders, electronics, and etc. I've got at houseboat slipped Lees Ford so most of my fishing will be done in Fishing creek. I went out Saturday morning and ended up catching 6, all of which were keeper size. I went out again Sunday morning and caught 2 keepers in about a half hour before I had to head home..I'm sure all of this was beginners luck and probably won't catch another one all winter!! All fish were around 25ft deep and caught on shad on planer boards and down rods.. I hope this helps someone.. I'll try to post on here after every trip in order to help other rookies like myself.

Nice thought missionfishin, but there are plenty of fish below difficulty creek. We were out tonight and below Ramsey's Point the water was crazy with stripers. Unfortunately, I'm not a very good fisherman though, I only landed one nice keeper on a white head spinner and nothing on my 5 live bait poles.

    Still awesome to find em.

The area between Difficuly Creek and the Dam, which is all below Difficulty Creek is exactly where I said they were in my tip so yes there are plenty of fish below Difficulty Creek. Ramsey Point is above Difficulty Creek and over the last week since my last trip they have been moving up the lake and currently there are some stripers up there now and as the water continues to cool down you will see more of them migrating back up the lake even farther. The reports from the Dam area came early in the striper jump season which usually starts in the lower end of the lake, wolf to dam area and during that time nearly all the stripers in the lake are there. Two weeks ago none were in the Difficulty/Ramsey area but we are now in the later part of the season for jumps and maybe in a few weeks you will catch a few in the mid lake area around white oak creek/conley bottom.
My brother in law and his son caught 4 today in the main lake out from Harmon Creek and some jumps stayed up a good while.
If I go this week, that is the area I am heading to. I think the front Saturday may shut down the jumps for a while so everyone that can, should get out and enjoy this awesome bite before then.

Would not touch a Hopkins jig though, threw in 2 different schools jumping very aggressively nothing, reeled in threw a doll fly bam hit right away. All jumps seen were just outside of Marina straight across give or take a 100 yrds. Was only there in evening but others said they were jumping in morning along the wall but not staying up long. Guys were catching on umbrellas and live bait in morning.

Were they dragging live bait or casting into the jumps?
    Thanks.

Fished out of Jamestown last Saturday and headed out tomorrow as well. Plenty of fish in the jumps that lasted till about 10:30 local time. Only fished the jumps no live bait and stripers were liking top water baits 3-1 to doll flys. Which is always fine by me, top water is always more fun.
    Good luck this weekend guys.

    Great Jumps

Went Thursday evening to the main lake at Campbell Landing and just after 5 p.m. central time we had 2 big jumps come up about 30 yards apart and they stayed up for about 30 minutes for the best action we have seen all fall. We caught several fish and came home with 6 nice keepers, it was just awesome! Friday morning just above the oil slick in Otter Creek we got into another good jump and hooked up with 5, landing 3 keepers. Saturday morning, today, a friend of mine got into some good jumps in greasy creek near the marina and limited out. I would guess this front will hurt it over the next week but I have a feeling that we may still have some good jumps coming in November.
