In need of help on nolin and rough PLEASE!!!

So a friend of mine has only been fishing once and he just lost his kids in a custody battle now they're in navada. I'm taking him out to get his mind off of things and I need to know if nolin or rough river is turning over and if so is there any part of those lakes that haven't started to. I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me how they're biting there but I just need to know if the lakes are fishable. Thanks for the help.

    the lake is fine

I was down at the lake the other day from all the way up in the head waters to wax, river had mud however wax was good color. also fished down around rock creek. The fish have been active. all ramps should be fine. The draw down is oct 15 so the water level should stay the same. what are you fishing for depends on where to go.

If you want to catch fish my advice would be go to Kentucky lake. Barren, Nolin and Rough are in a funk right now and fish are hard to come by.

A smaller body of water close by might be better.

Also, what about Barren. I little closer than KY or Barkley, and folks are catching fish there.

I have a place on rough and that's where my boat is unfortunatly. I don't care about catching big ones with this guy. I'm just trying to get him out of the house. Plus I'm in Lexington right now so that would be a ton of driving for me. I really appreciate the suggestions but I can only go to rough or nolin.
