If going to the proper authority to receive an ID is too much of a hardship for you, then you don't deserve the right to vote. This just chaps my buttocks.

I'm beginning to get confused on the entire ID system. I had to get another voter ID card and, I'll swear, that was nothing but a piece of trash. It was a 1-1/2 inch wide piece of cardboard with my name and address and Precinct on the front and a signature line on the back, no photo. It looked like something a child would make. I walked down to the Sheriff's office to renew my CCW Permit; the one that had expired looked much like my drivers license with a photo ID that was one year old. The person issuing the new CCW Permit asked for my drivers license so she could see if I was who I said I was. duhhh!

People in my county who buy tobacco products, regardless of their age, have to submit a photo ID in order to make a purchase. I don't smoke, chew, or dip (lol) but I've seen cashiers ask for an ID from men that looked 75 years old. They do the same with alcohol purchases. I just don't see what the big issue is over a voter ID unless the complaintant has something to hide.
