Left to face his challenger over the issues instead of being able to use his charm and teleprompters on a captive audience, the President performed badly. Seemed to me he thought his great smile and stage presence would get him through, so he wasn't very well prepared.

On another thread DJD said the Dem attack machine would kick into an even higher gear, and the next debate will find Mr. Obama handling things a lot differently. I agree, but I'm cautiously optimistic about Romney's chances.
