Rough River Lake Crappie EO October

Looking for help on Rough River Lake for Oct 26 and 27 for crappie. What kind of patterns, jig colors, any creeks better than others this time of year? Will they be dropping the lake then?

The Corp starts dropping on the Oct. 15th.. Normally crappie start getting into the full swing and feed aggressively just after they start to pull it down through winter .They can be taken on minnows and /or jigs

Where is your store? We will be staying at the State Park resort. Any info on jig colors for this time of year? We will be buying minnows. Need general areas to fish.

Red and chart. And black and chart. are my go to colors.

with the lake being low this time of year, any good areas to fish up near the dam, deeper water, better boat ramp access??
How far to run from the state park ramp??

The lake has come up within the past 1 or 2 Level is at 492 ft.The winter draw down will begin on Oct 20 th.
The bite has been up and down with anglers catching several short fish to one keeper.
We are located 3 miles north of the North Fork boat ramp on Hwy 259. or if comming from Hwy 60 we are 5 miles from the 60 /259 intersection.

It may just be my bad eyes, but it appears to me that fall turnover has started on the dam end of the lake. Very dark color.

I aggree, Several anglers have stated that it looks it has.

Fished Walter creek Monday and I agree . The water was gray and smelled a little and the bass where scatter about. Caught them from 2' to 20 feet.
