I worked during his term, it wasn't that great!!! I drew unemployment twice in my life, ike and ronnie he raised taxes, almost half of his administration wound up in the slammer, and his backers in south america killed US priests.And all that tricled down was bull spit.Yeah his face should be on a stamp[the glue side}

Hahaha the stamp thing was funny. I remember he fired those Air Traffic Controller Union goons for striking was that why you collected unemployment?
Seriously though.....regardless of what the ATC's wanted or demanded to strike and try to cripple the country and put folks in harms way was wrong.

Was working in the chemical sector then. Its funny, but he stoog up for polish ship yard workers to strike. anf the thtreat was coming from the USSR. Well they called the soviets bluff. plus a cerain polish cardinal told the folks go ahead, they wouldn't dare.Soon after that "the wall" came down.

I was fortunate (imo) to experience going through Checkpoint Charlie and see how East Berlin was. I will say it was ALOT different than West Berlin which was fantastic and booming with fun and nightlife. BMW's, Mercedes and other nice cars, beautiful women in clothes that showed it and then East Berlin was drab and dreary with their little small cars. Major contrast....oh well wonder how it looks now?

That city was one great leave town,. The best strip tease I ever saw was on the beach at wansee, watching a frauline change into a bikini using a towel as a shield, when she emerged there was a standing ovation for her.Went there twice and my friend and I kept talking it up, but another friend of mine [same company] fell asleep on the train, and woke up in stalinalee, they kept him there for 5 months.After that that place was verboten to our company and battalion. Loved that bearen bier!!!
