    UK basketball recruiting

Aaron Harrison, Andrew Harrison, and now James Young....2013 is looking to be another good year for the Cats...Oh and they're still in the running for #1 Julius Randle and are expected to sign the top player from the 2014 class who will probably come into the 2013 class Andrew Wiggins....Nerlens Noel, Alex Poythress, and probably Archie Goodwin will take their talents to the NBA after this season, but I expect Willie Cauley to stay

After suffering through Tubby Ball and Billy Clyde, I'm glad to have something to get excited about with UK basketball again

It's almost unfair at this point, but it seems as if he's going to keep getting 3 to 5 of the top 10 players every year. I remember his first class was arguably the best ever, but this 2013 class tops it. I don't see any end to this recruiting dominance.....and I like it!

They are loading up, that is for sure...but I will not call them the best class ever, because last year's class had Anthony Davis and a player like Davis comes along about once every 30 years.

Tim I'm going to have to disagree....Last years class had Kidd-Gilchrist AND Davis....MKG was the glue that held the team together....He could score when he wanted to, but differed most of the time....He busted his butt on defense every trip down the floor, which is hard to find in a day where scoring points gets you the big contracts...Talent doesn't always win, just ask John Wall and Demarcus Cousins...The way that group of young guys gelled happens once every 30 years...UK will win consistently during the regular season, but theyre eventually gonna have to have some guys stay to keep winning national titles

I'm about as happy as a bodybuilder directing traffic that Big Blue Madness is coming on in 30 minutes....I'll go ahead and make my prediction that Poythress is this years team MVP, not Noel like everybody is thinking

fishin is life, don't forget that Tubby won a national title and was a Keith Bogans injury away from making another final four. He was no Calipari, but don't sell Tubby short! He wasn't a great recruiter, but he was a great X's and O's coach. Not exciting basketball, but productive.

I know Tubby was a good coach, and very successful during the regular season...His slow down style of ball was boring, and the only thing he won was with Pitinos guys....He was, however, a class act and a great role model for his players....

True words but some people say he was great. I don't think so....good for sure but not great.

I agree that MKG was the key to the team, but Davis was an ahletic freak in the middle on defense and could go out on the wing and score if needed. I think it will be a looonng time before we see another college player like Davis though.

Davis was the best college ball player I've seen play in 20 years, yes I said 20 years. Who was better????

UK is loading up and will as long as Pay Pal Cal is there, it is what it is. I hate the guy, always will. That said though I got a hundred dollar bill that says Noel will never be the player Davis was..

Noel won't ever be CLOSE to the player Davis was...I kept up with his HS and AAU stats and I'm still not that impressed with Noel....Is he big, yes....Can he jump, yes....Can he score, NOPE....His stat lines were 4pts, 12 boards, 8 blocks or 8pts, 18 boards, 12 blocks....UK's squad isn't that good this year....Unless Cal can pull another rabbit out of the hat like he did with the Brandon Knight team, it will probably be a struggle this year, especially early with games against Maryland, Duke, Baylor, and UL....I see atleast 2 and possibly all 4 of those games being L's...I don't see a true scorer on this team like they've had the past few years...By the end of the year Noel isn't the best player on the team, and isn't a top 5 draft pick...Poythress will be the team MVP this year

Steven you are a sensible knowledgable basketball fan. I've got buttloads of my UK friends screaming Nerlins is just as good as Davis in my ear. You are the first UK fan I have heard say that he will be good but not an instant supertstar. Last years team was nothing shy of awesome. It was the greatest collection of college basketball talent I have seen in a very very long time. In fact it's a top three that I think I've ever seen. Yes I'm a diehard Card fan, but I try to call it like I see it and UK was off the chart last year. They had experience with the young guns, this years team has only Wilchir, (spelling) with alot of experience. They will be very young and I agree with you, they will struggle at times. Could very well be a huge factor in March though...

The team that is scaring me more than this years UK team is the Team they'll have next year...Man I been reading that they just might get that Lee kid from California as well....Talk about a Top 10 loaded class next year if they do land him.......Heard the kid has a official visit at Cal this week also, so his decision might just come this week as well.....
