I understand unions are not for everyone but I can say they have to this day provided me a good life so far. In my trade there is no standing or leaning on a shovel handle and just sit around talking to people, if the contractor has no work or you are not producing money making work you will be laid off till work comes around. It is like that on both sides of the fence no work your going to probably get laid off. If someone was to ever ask a non union constuction worker on a prevailing wage job if he hates unions I dont think he would say that because of the pay scale he is earning. I usually hardly ever come on these boards anymore wheather it be off topic or ky discussion board because of stuff like this, no matter how much I disagree with somethings I will bite my tongue but this was to much to swallow. Honestly I have alot of friends that are non union in different trades and we talk to each other about our work but we dont say disrespecting stuff to each other no matter how much we disagree with some things. I will probably get bashed for this but I only think I am sticking up for myself and the union I belong to.
