It's interesting you mentioned that vile shemale, I seem to remember that she took a stance once something like "we have to pass it before we know what's in it". That is EXACTLY what I'm arguing against in this thread!!

Many including you have argued that alcohol is more dangerous yet noone has supplied proof to back up their claims, well except for me.

As for gatewood? He was a fringe candidate with fringe ideas at best, at worst his mind went up in smoke. Please don't hesitate to carry on pelosis message of "we have have to pass it before we know what's in it" crap, like how much money pot would bring into the state. Just make sure you keep the truth (like how much it would cost to regulate) covered up.

Please continue with the bong hits.
Aaaah Tim let me get this right...We have to supply proof as to alcohol being more dangerous...WOW just WOW...I don't no maybe MAD. I have no idea what a CD hospital is so maybe I'm missing your point.

As far as MADD? It would be interesting to see how many accidents where the driver had marijuana in their systems also, and if possible how much. Since the only facts we have to go on is that car accidents have went up where medical pot is legal, or the rate of impaired drivers anyway, I can't see how this can even be argued?

Anyone who argues that pot would not be as devastating if it became legal as alcohol has a transparent agenda. The facts are against them.

I'm not condoning alcohol abuse, just the opposite actually. One can't argue the merit of one illegal substance over the abuses of a legal substance. That argument will continue to fail everytime.

It's this simple, how many alcohol problems would we have if it were still prohibited?

CD Chemical Dependent sorry. As far as dui accidents I think your grasping for straws on that one.And you are right on the transparent agenda, I would like to put the farmers back to work,I would like to see the police out of the fields and back on the streets...were the real crimes are commited, I would like to see tax money stay here instead of billions going across the border to Mexico and South America untaxed, to mention a few. I'll tell you right now the real drug out there is crack and Meth...We call it human D-Con here. These are the addicts that commit crimes to support there habit and will sell anything and everything for there next fix. Put that same army hellicopter over the crack house down town...Shut them down and I promise the crime rate drops. As far as the artical you supplied I would like to know the increase of illegalls in the area...hmm Sorry for being long winded but this is something that I deal with on a daily basis. And before you cough hippy me lol I haven't partaken in many moons do to my job. But this is just common sense.Man made alcohol god grew grass LOL.

Oh no. Not the "it's in the Bible" argument, lol.

It's clear I'm outnumbered so I'll leave it here, I think it would cause in the long run the same issues that alcohol does. Once you open up that box you can't just close it. I absolutely see it as a negative revenue wise, because everyone here knows it would bring a shitstorm of new laws and regulations. Also what's to keep Joe q pothead from buying his pot in Tn or other States? Oh I forgot, we can just serialize each bud and defacing said# will be a crime.

I'm done here, smoke em if you got em. Now you can join in my new thread/discussion on Why killing babies is murder, period.

Such an angry young man, LOL......
Dude you are out numbered for one reason and one reason only.............YOU ARE WRONG.
Chuck see's this crap everyday in my opinion that gives him ALOT more insight then you on this subject. Alot of people experimented with a little pot and didn't go on to be crazed maniac Circle K robbers and murders doing LSD and Meth. In fact MOST left it at that and moved on or it never caused an issue. I'm not much of a copy and paste guy but there are countless studies out there that have proved that Marijuana is not the evil path to destruction. Gathbreath had great ideas for Hemp as a cash crop..................True Hemp has NO THC and WILL NOT get people high. It's other values and uses are endless. But numbminded folks can't see that. You could smoke Hemp until you died and all you would get would be maybe a headache, lol.

Oh great.....It's already difficult to get coherent directions from locals in the state.

I can just see the headlines now: "Today, 37,000 Washington State Citizens drown in the Pacific when they were just darn sure they could walk on water to reach Hawaii".

Say what you want about how bad pot is for you compared to alcohol, tylenol, or placebos, but the driving factor behind this particular legislation is that prohibition has been, in the words of the former U.S. Attorney who is backing it, "an abject failure." So why keep repeating behavior that has never worked up until now? Some people call that insanity. And I would say this: marijuana is a gateway drug largely because it is illegal. If alcohol were illegal, and you could only get that from a "dealer," that would lead people into other drug abuse (more than it already does). If you were buying pot at the liquor store, and getting carded to make sure you were over 21, the guy selling it to you wouldn't encourage you to try some cocaine.

Again, what I thought was most interesting about the article was the fact that it wasn't the usual cast of players pushing for legalization. This time, it's actually the law enforcement community saying it should be legalized.
