The Clarksville boat ramp is directly across from the lower dam and the hydros. I think it's off Randolph Avenue.

Anything lower than 18 feet is fish-able,but I prefer 12 to 14. I'll be there tomorrow,in my boat.

Are you fishing from shore or do you have a boat? If by boat, don't go out there alone for your first trip.

I don't have a boat I fish from the shore and I was planning on going to the upper locks I believe sent the lower somewhat near Dixie highway? And do you think I should go to the upper or lower

Right now, they are releasing 41 feet of dam on the upper. I'd stay away from the upper.

Thank you so much!Sorry to ask so many questions first time going down there just wanna make it fun! Do you have any suggestions of how to fish the Ohio I am fishing for anything I am making some catfish bait that I have a recipe for and I also have a cast net to net shad. What lures/bait should I use? Also how is fishing there?

Shad is an excellent bait. Bring lots of terminal tackle as you'll get hung up on the rocks a lot,but that's where the fish are. Don't know what your homemade catfish bait is, but I'd leave it at home and just bring some chicken livers to use if you don't catch any shad.

As you face the river, just to your left off the ramp is a good place to try to catch some shad.

BE SAFE!! That current is nothing to play with.

Taking into account the rain and snow to the east of us, I'd say they'll be releasing 40 feet for some time to come from the upper.

You might also want to fish off the new ramp they installed that is somewhat parallel to the river. There is an eddy out from that new ramp that might hold fish.

They are one and the same. The old ramp projected straight into the river. A new ramp was also installed at the same site, but is more parallel to the river. Both of the boat ramps are at the same location.

Put a 5 inch white curly tail grub on a 1/4oz to 1/2oz jig. That can catch whites or sauger.

Use a bank sinker, anywhere from 2 to 5 ounce depending on current, and a circle hook and bait it with shad or chicken liver for cats. Chicken liver will also catch whites.

    Good luck to you.
