Question for my fellow Flourocarbon User when spooling up

I have been using flouro the last year and after learning how to treat the line and finding a brand i like i have become a fan of it for my cranking and Bottom fishing. But i was curious how many of you when spooling up fill the spool completely with fluorocarbon or do you use a backing of mono to cut down of wasted line and save cost

I was curious as if you can save a little money and make a spool of line last longer then i am all for it .But what knot do you use to attach the backing to the main line as i am really thinking of trying this

    Joining Mono to Flourocrbo

I've been using the Invizex line for many years now and will never go back mono (except for topwater baits). I only fill my reels about half way with the flourocarbon and use green mono as backing. The reason I use the green line is so i can see it through the clear flourocarbon when I'm getting low on the Invizex. If you you use clear mono, it's really hard to see it throught the flourocarbon. I use a double uniknot to join the green mono to the flourocarbon. A couple things on the knot: first, you only need a couple of whips on the uniknot because there won't be any fighting presure on it and you don't want a big knot on the spool. Second, make sure the uniknot is in the middle of the spool when you wind onto the reel.
