Example of how our country REALLY honors our Veterans

I may be your age, I don't know. I did not serve in the military but I do thank all those who have and will in order to protect MY freedoms. Do my thanks mean any less because I did not serve?

Just because you did not serve does not mean your Thanks are not appreciated. Actually, a Thanks from people that did not serve is certainly appreciated....unless you were an adult (or at least old enough to understand the sacrifices men and women and their families make by serving in the military) during the Viet Nam era and you did not start Thanking them until it became politically correct to do so, which came about during the Gulf War. Personally, other than family, I do not recall one person having ever thanked me for my service until it became politically correct to do so. I do however, like Hlleonard remember having many folks treat me less than nice, call me a baby killer etc......during those days. If you were one of those folks...then what I said about your Thanks being too late applies to you. If you were not one of those folks...then Carry On.

I served, against my better judgement! I counted the days to get back "in-country" and swore I would never nor any of my sons ever leave this country to shoot at some one again. 44 years later still feel the same way maybe even stronger Just my 2cents

Your welcome... If most of your countrymen were like you then we might not have a country, I'm thankful that most are not.

Did not mean to sound ungrateful, I understand what you mean now. I do not fall into that group of people. I was 18 when my brother left Viet Nam in 1972.
