Went to dam yesterday with "wife" Steve. We fished the creek below dam on Ohio side of river. I caught a sauger on the first cast, then nothing for a while. I dropped a line off the side of the boat in 4 feet of water with a large minnow for bait,smack a couple of pound smallmouth. Rebaited, dropped off again..another large smallmouth. Again and again..my "wife" start catching them next. We ended up catching 12 big smallmouth. My "wife" added a few 2 plus pound sauger. Later moved up to the wall. A few boats catching alot of sauger jigging. Steve caught afew more keeper sauger..barge coming through ..about time to be leaving anyway. Sauger are coming in..looks to be a good year.
