    Falls of Ohio report

Sauger and hybrid are running in the morning. Caught a few hybrid in the 4-5lb range. Caught a lot of sauger that were 2-3lbs. Biggest sauger was 20.5 inches and weighed 3lbs 14 ounces. Been hitting the river in the morning at sunrise. Catching them on white and green.
Few guys I talked to said they were running again right before sunset, but I have not fished there in the evening hours.

I've been there the past two days. Seems the bite really picked up after 4:00 PM. We left around 5:00 or so both days and had a limit of sauger. Too cold for me to go in the early dawn hours.

Yes, that is more than six sauger. Fishing partner gave me his limit to clean.

The limit in the Indiana side is 10 right? If so what law would you have to go by if you were in a boat?

For reasons I won't go into here, I only have a Kentucky license even though I'm an Indiana resident. I just feel "safer" going by the Ky regs of 6 sauger. From what I read, it appears that the Indiana limit is also six so it's a moot point.

1/4 oz jig head or whatever weight to get to the bottom with a 5 inch white curly tail grub.

Better: Drop shot with a live minnow.

This is if you are fishing from a boat.

fishinfreak: If you're fishing from a boat, DON'T EVEN TRY to motor up to the upper dam if you are not experienced and very familiar with the river and it's dangers and the correct course to navigate to the upper portion.

Please accept this plea as an offer of help. We want you to be safe!

Thanks for warning me but I'll be fishing with "The Man" and he's familiar with that area. We've fished up there a few times this summer for catfish.
