Few guys I talked to said they were running again right before sunset, but I have not fished there in the evening hours.
What lure do you use for sauger

1/4 oz jig head or whatever weight to get to the bottom with a 5 inch white curly tail grub.

Better: Drop shot with a live minnow.

This is if you are fishing from a boat.

fishinfreak: If you're fishing from a boat, DON'T EVEN TRY to motor up to the upper dam if you are not experienced and very familiar with the river and it's dangers and the correct course to navigate to the upper portion.

Please accept this plea as an offer of help. We want you to be safe!

Thanks for warning me but I'll be fishing with "The Man" and he's familiar with that area. We've fished up there a few times this summer for catfish.

We were fishing right down from the museum on the rocks. We were throwing 3inch white grubs followed by a 3in chartuesse shad. There is a statue coser to 65 and it is right next to the museum, that is where we were fishing. Good luck, I will be there monday morning bank fishing. If you see two younger guys in all brown bibs fishing there, that will be us.
