That makes sense we have mud bottoms and wood in the Wabash and the SS will chew up the wood.

Hey guys, Great info here.
I and a friend are new to the falls area. We are hoping to give it a try on Friday 12/7. We hope to take a 20 foot bassboat in from the Indiana side. But we are a bit nervous about it as we have never navigated the area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are both familiar with boating running water, but do not know the area well. Also, what is optimum levels for newbies to navigate the area?
Thanks In advance.
If I were you I would just fish the deep hole in front of the bear traps. It's very good fishing there and not near as dangerous. If you try to make it to the fossil beds without knowing the channel it will end in disaster. Especially in a fiberglass boat. If you're determined to make it up there then your best bet would be to follow someone up there, but then you're just trusting them and they may not know the channel either.Hey guys, Great info here.
