I throw my small crankbaits with a browning silaflex. It's a cheap rod (about $30) but it gives the bait a great action and I never lose fish on them.

Oooh, that is a good one. It seems like a reall stiff rod doesnt help the hooksets with shad raps. I like a rod with a decent backbone but a flexible tip. The same rod i use for jig fishing white bass and creek smallies. Anyone else? I still miss em if i use a jointed shadrap. Cant figure out any way around that one.
I throw them on a med Rage rod.
I throw these all the time. Great lures! Also the Berkley Flickr.
I use a Skeet reese rod (worm/spinnerbait) 7" Med-Fast with a Lews Speed spool.
I am no expert but I was told if they are short striking...change colors.
I throw my size 7's on 7' medium action Bass Pro Cranking stick with a BPS 5.3:1 reel 12 lb Flourocarbon I also put #4 Gamagatsu hooks on the back and for my #5's I use a 7' medium spinning Berkley Lightning Rod with a BPS spinning reel 10 lb Flourocarbon I also change the rear hooks to a #6 Gamagatsu these combos work well for me I hardly lose fish I think having good hooks make a world of difference both combos can be purchased for about $100-150 each
