I bought a HB 597 w/di this summer works great except for gps speed anything under around 3mph readin will jump around Contacted HB they said it is the design of the unit nothing they can do so if you like to troll stay away from 500 series units

Humminbird customer services is ten times better

I own both, I have 4 humminbirds and 1 lowrance

the reason for the lowarance was siriurs compatibilty and off shore sat.
