Even though the only connections I have to WKU are through friends, I've always been a fan of their sports programs. Until now, that is.

WKU Hires Bobby Petrino
I'll bet the Louisville fans are pissed. They're paying Strong 4 million a year and could have gotten Bobby back for $850K.
He's damaged goods so he's not going to bolt anywhere anytime soon.
Invoke a "one strike and you're out" clause in the contract.
Who cares about character in college football anymore? Why I heard Ole' Bobby tried to pay for a soda at Wal-Mart with a pocket full of character and the check out lady looked at him funny.
$$$ is what it's all about. Gotsta grab that cash, and grab it now.
15 minutes after the presser, Bobby resigned and took another job...but said that the memories he made at Western will last a lifetime.
The only thing about this story that seems worthy is that Willie went to coach at South Florida.
I'm sure Petrino will do well but he will also get caught with his hand in the nookie jar!
Waatch out. He can flat out coach. I don't care if you like him or not he is a great coach. There is plenty of players back on this team. They will be a contender for a year or two. I sure he will be gone after 2 years and back at a bigger school. I think they play uk in 13' cats may go down again. If not it will be a good game.
WKU was 7-5, worth mentioning wins against horrible UK but when UK did have Max Smith who was playing at a high level, and a win against Southern Miss who played well against UofL in a rain storm game.
Guy at work and me were joking around about Petrino going to Cincy or WKU.
As a UK fan I see this as a threat. They have a cake schedule which Petrino might be able to rack up a lot of wins. Recent past WKU won over some recruits from UK, I don't know if they won over any from UofL or not.
WKU is a wonderful shcool, amazing, beautiful campus, great people. I can see Petrino building them up big.
Now the question is,,,Does Jurich go out and try to get a contract with WKU? To start a new rival in football, or does that help out WKU more than what is in UoflL's interest?
As a football fan I'd love to watch Petrino go against his former teams.
You are right and the funny thing about it is that Know1 doesn't pay a dime of Strong's salary, but continues to whine about it. Never understand why someone complains about someone else's salary when it has no effect on him at all.
There is good news for UK football fans though. Despite the fact that WKU now has Petrino calling the plays, you still will move up one spot in state football rankings next season. Trinity is graduating James Quick, Tracis Wright and Hatcher so you should be slightly better than Trinity next season. As for the opening game in Nashville against WKU, expect to give up 50 points and lose by double figures.
