We catch walleye and saugeye now and then below Greenup. From what I understand, the farther up the river you go, the more walleye there are.
50/50 sauger and walleye belowwolf creek dam, but after the new no fishing zone trout will be the only fare
Catch a few walleye every spring-fall below Greenup. Most I ever caught in one trip was 3 including one which was just under 7 lb.There should be more below Byrd lock and dam as there are at Greenup. So far this fall have only got one
There are PLENTY of walleye to be caught below wolf creek PAST the restricted area.....actually all of the eyes I've caught besides one have came well past that area.

have caught a few through the years at mcalpine biggest being 7.5 lb, thought I had a cat till I pulled him up.
Reminds me of happening of a time a few years ago that I combined sauger-walleye fishing with catfishing below Greenup dam.Caught a skipjack, cut it in half and threw it out on a bottom rig and was throwing jig-twister tails close by.Got a bite and pulled a walleye in that had hit the cut skipjack. While I was putting it on a stringer got a walleye within 10' of where i had the catfish rig set and gave it to me as he wasn't keeping fish that day.Another time in late spring got a large sauger that hit a 4" shad on my catfish rig.Have quit bring a catfish rig a few years ago.
