    School Shooting

I just read an interesting thing. I know many people have said it before, but in the wake of the resent shooting: A young child asks God how could you let such evil things happen in schools? God replies I am not aloud in schools.

As I looked at my two girls tonight I could not help think of what if. I would lay my life down for a complete stranger and have put my life at risk many times as many other men and women have done in my profession. The same as men and women in the Armed Services have done and continue to do.

I can't help but, think what the flip is wrong with people. I know are justice system is a joke. But, it has to be more than just that.

I guess what I am getting at is maybe not everyone needs a trophy or telling a kid he is getting an F is a bad thing.

Did things like this happen in the 1950's? I don't think so.

    Why?

Sorry for the rant just trying to make sense of it. I don't know maybe it was 10 too many Miller Lites.

Ryan, I am as confused as your are at this time. I want to scream and cuss at the Godlessness of this country and then immediately I want to hold my loved ones. All mixed emotions are flowing through me and I don't even know these people that have been affected by this twisted human being that comitted this act.

Professional help will be needed by those affected and it is my belief that we are ALL AFFECTED!!

As you, I have no answers,no solutions. I only have questions that cannot be answered but only from our Lord Almighty.

Our world has changed. Our United States has changed. We can only one by one attempt to restore self reliance, family caring, and God into our lives.

I apologize to PWI (posting while intoxicated) because I could no longer attempt to process this tragedy into my mind.

Call your friends and loved ones. Tell them you love them. None of us know the time we have.

I weep for those innocent children awaiting Santa Claus and the terror they faced in their last minutes on earth.

I honestly don't want to talk about this, it's just to tragic. This terrorist pieceofshit, female anatomy, murdering scum has commited one of the most heinous acts i'm aware of in my time on earth.

I have three kids, i have been sick since i heard of this tragedy. I read earlier that some kids were just praying for Christmas to be here, out loud. I can't imagine, i just can't. The poor children, the poor parents, and the poor witnesses including the leo's that saw the unthinkable. It's just terrible.

I will not in this thread but will be bringing up the fear of God, the overmedicating of kids, and generally the degradation of society to the point where they think pot should be legal. This country has went to hell in a handbasket and moral values or lack of is the culprit.

    The 50s

yes they did, but not to the extent that its happening now.And I cant recall any mass attacks targetting children. Of course there are a heck of a lot more of us now, than then. Television wasn't as violent, and the first video games in the late 60s were not gory. There isn't any easy or practical solution to this, its going to happen again. Maybe just reading about it in the paper, or hearing it on the radio might lessen some of the copy catness to it. who knows

I feel you Ryan I do brother. This thing has hurt me and brought me to tears and I ain't ashamed to tell you all that. I have no answers other than society today is in terrible shape. We let criminals go because we don't have room to house them. People ignore major warning signs of others that have obvious issues.

There is no way in Hell anybody can tell me a 20 year old boy capable of this didn't show warning signs and probably a bunch of them. People if you know something is this broke, help to get it fixed or maybe even put away in a mental facilty or what not.

I'm just sick over this and my wife can't quit crying. God please help the families...

    end the hype now

I dont care who the turd was, or how many guns or shots he fired. Burn the corpse, throw the ashes in landfill, and be done with it. This excessive coverage of this crap seems to spawn more of it.Sickos home in on it. The more we broadcastit, and the worse it gets. I wont watch anymore of it.My God, we are reaping what we sew, dosn't anyone understand that?

I heard on the radio yesterday that a study showed that the number of mass killings has remained virtually unchanged for decades. There wasn't any data they discussed about children vs. adults that I heard.

I think you're right, though, about the impact of TV and the copycat factor.

What???? I don't know what caused this guy to do this but I would lean toward mental illness. Your jab at Pot was what made me stop following your train of thought and shake my head. You must get a grip dude because to bring that up in a thread about this tragedy shows how mislead you are.

I cannot begin to feel the loss these families feel. Every time I think hard about what they must be going through I get tears in my eyes and my heart hurts.
This tragic event just shows me how sick this world has become. Geez......what a mess.

When you remove GOD from society, you get crazed gunmen who have no moral compass.

Maybe GOD is not the answer, but it certainly is NOT the problem.

And all my atheist friends here need not respond. Don't spout off garbage about how many people have been killed in the name of Christianity, and don't spout off about how McVeigh was a Christian. Neither of those are relevant.

My problem is that I know exactly ZERO followers of the lord who would do such a thing, yet, I know a crap ton of non followers who I think COULD do something like this.

I don't think people snap. I don't think people just up and decide to go kill a few dozen people at an elementary school. Rather, I think people like this cold KILLER leave plenty of signs of their craziness. His own brother has stated he had mental problems.

IN the 1950's when you failed at something, you LEARNED from it.........

In the 1950's if you took a gun to school, it was for show and tell, and EVERYONE respected it.

In the 1950's if you even thought about doing something bad at school, or DID something bad at school, not only did you get your ASS beat at school, when you got home, your dad beat your ass, called your grand father, and he beat your ass, and then called the neighbor to beat your ass.

When they were done, if you still didn't get the idea, your mom beat your ass.

Now, if you do anything wrong, your parents sue the school and the teacher.

    Something's gotta give.

You're RIGHT.......this piece of **** had mental issues, and his brother even stated it. THIS **** needs to end......AND media immediately wants to point to gun control. Gun control is not the answer.

When I was in High School, my World Affairs teacher open carried EVERY DAY. He was a bad ass, and when asked about it, he bluntly stated, because it was his right, and if the **** hit the fan, he was going down shooting. He was one squared away ex POW MARINE, and a great teacher.

We trust educators with our kids all day, everyday, yet we'd never allow them to be active participants in the second amendment......
