    School Security

With these shootings becoming more of the norm I Wonder what a school will be like in the future? For years we have been installing card access, cameras and intercom systems that can lock a school down with the proper command. For the most part that's been enough.

What's next? I can see an area for parents and visitors only and no one being allowed past that. More metal detectors? Drug sniffing dogs before you can enter? Parent mental health background checks?? I can see bullet proof glass, safe areas and all around tighter security. Roaming security in hallways? We kinda of have that with administrators supervising class changes in the hallways but they cant handle a gun or knife attack. Imo....Schools are going to become alot like prisons. Visiting areas, visiting hours and maybe play areas inside the school with no access to the outside except through required secured doors.

    Things will change.

I'm just not sure that you can ever really stop crazy. In my opinion if someone is dead set on killing themselves and some other people in the process they can.

    School Security

A really determined attacker can find ways to enter most public buildings. As in the school shootings, most buildings have windows or doors that can be forced with a few tools even if locked. I have read that the Secret Service and FBI fear the lone gunman. Most times he will not be going to bars and bragging about his plans or talking it over with his buddies, simply because he does not have any. But he would not have to enter a school, he could set a fire and attack when the school is evacuated or when the busses are loading or unloading. For that matter he could snipe from a distance, unfortunately there are just too many exposures to protect against a determined attacker.
