I know and it's sad. But I don't think we can use the fact that someone may disregard the law as a reason to not make more laws. By that logic, we wouldn't have speeding or traffic laws or tougher DUI laws, etc.
I'm talking generally here and not specific to gun control laws, because I don't really see the justification.
For example, if DUIs went on a sharp increase, would people say that there isn't any point in making the laws tougher because they would just be ignored?
