The NRA has suggested armed guards in every school. More great thinking. We also can put armed guards in every movie theater, every bus, every subway. several dozen in every shopping mall, several dozen in every factory, several hundred in every stadium and one at every street corner in case of road rage.

After that we do a complete roundup and screening of every person in this country. We check their voter registration and if they show signs of voting for gun control platforms we commit them to concentration....er uh I mean hopitals.

All of this would be much better than requireing safe storage for guns, extending liability to those that sell black market guns or any of 100s of minor regulations to secure guns.

Libs are screaming about the NRA comments...........but....

I wonder what they felt in 2000 when Bill Clinton suggested and FUNDED putting cops in schools...

Clinton Pledges Funds to Add Police to Schools - Los Angeles Times

And on another note......conservative republicans have had a consistent message on this gun violence. They blame hollywood. The have blamed hollywood after every one of these horrible incidents.

Maybe, just MAYBE there is something to it......Maybe, just MAYBE the over the top violence in video games and movies is having an effect.

Of course, since hollywood pushes the liberal agenda, NOTHING will ever be done about that. You cannot go to a movie that isn't sexxed up. You cannot go to a movie that doesn't have a few hundred gun or violent scenes in it. You cannot go to a movie that doesn't promote underage drinking and drugs.

Hell this **** is even promoted in animated movies that are TARGETING our kids...

If you want to make changes, how about MAKE CHANGES.......

Looks like a battle between the 1st amendment (freedom of speech/press) vs. 2nd amendment (right to bear arms). Limit one or the other.

If "free speech" in the means of shoot em up games and videos can be tied to these shootings, then I think it may no longer be a "speech" issue.

    Just saying.

Agree and disagree. Neither the 1st or the 2nd amendments should be blank check. If I don't like what you say does 2nd give me the right to shoot.

But really when either go so far as to harm another party it has just gone to far (and that should violate the 1st). The Westboro Baptist church is an example of too far, so are fully automatic machine guns.

That brings up the argument that comes up that criminals will always subvert gun control laws. Fully automatic weapons are tightly controlled and mostly illegal. Criminals do not subvert these controls and laws. So does gun control work? Imagine a full auto. Yet if you live 10 miles from the nearest patrolman should you be left on your own.

I am not going to be this all or nothing proponent. No guns at all vs give me a 30 round clip or give me death.

I took the CCDW class and I was never told it was ok to shoot because you did't like someone's freedom of speech. If they threaten you with a "I'm gonna kill you!" And come at you with a knife or gun then you have to defend yourself but even then it better be a last resort.
Westboro folks make me sick but they have a right to protest and folks have a right to protest them. You seem very happy to bend or ignore rules if they make you feel better. That's a problem because once you start that cherry picking of which phrase to remove or what to enforce you make things worse. Jmo. Are you an attorney by chance??
Are you saying a 30 round clip is bad? Even when used on a semi auto?? But two 15 round clips are fine? Three 10 round clips are fine? I'm not a professional shooter but I can drop a clip and reload a clip in seconds while walking. Or I can have several guns ready to go. How about a shotgun that holds 9 slugs or 9 rounds of buckshot?? At what point does one stop trying to control???
