So let me put this gun situation in a different light, that some of you can relate to.
Let’s say that the issue is that evil people are killing other people by running them down on the sidewalk & even driving their big, bad hopped up V8 muscle cars into cafes & coffee shops. One complete nut job even ran down & tragically killed 23 people including 20 kindergarteners in front of a school, after he 1st stole the hot rod from his mother, killing her in the process.
Now I know that many of you are a responsible owners of several of these same hot rod cars. You would never purposely use your cars in an evil way to kill or hurt people. In fact I believe that you would use you hot rod to protect others if one of these evil people tried anything with theirs.
But that don’t matter, the government comes along with proposed legislation to ban any production, export, import or sale of all hot rods & it will be illegal to own or sell any car that is capable of holding a V8 engine. You know that it won’t matter because these sick individuals will just use a V6 or 4 cylinder or even (get this) break the law & put a V8 in their car anyway or just steal one.
It doesn’t matter to the government that millions of Americans are responsible owners of the same hot rods & V8 powered cars. These cars are the cause of the problem & must be outlawed.
I think you get my point. American freedoms are supposed to be just that, freedoms! The 2nd Amendment wasn’t created so sportsman could have arms to hunt with, it was created so the American people could stand against evil with equivalent arms. If you don't like guns, don't own one. If I never threaten you with mine, why should my owning or carrying one bother you. I bet if I'm near you when one of these evil people try something, you will be thankful I was there to protect myself.
