Finally got done with school so i went out yesterday around 1:00 and the day started out slow. Finally caught a few around 2:30 and then around 3:30 the bite really turned on. My last cast of the day i was reeling in my line and thought i was stuck on some weeds. I decided to set the hook anyways and suddenly I drag started tearing out of my reel and i was getting towed in my kayak. After a minute or so i finally saw the bass and my jaw dropped. Next it took off to the sky and i thought i was going to lose it. Luckily it stayed on and i got it near the kayak and it ripped out drag underneath the kayak. It made one more jump a foot from the yak and one last run then i had next to me. I grabbed its body and pinned it against the kayak and grabbed the mouth because i wasnt letting this one get away. I have no clue about the weight but it is no doubt a trophy bass for indiana. Caught about 8 that day. I also got out today on my kayak and caught about 10 bass and crappie. All fish were caught on berkley flicker shad with a slow steady reel. This time of year it is best to use tight wobble crankbaits.
