any ideas on deep divers for the year?

Just curious and always looking to expand the arsenal...It seems I've become joined at the hip with using normans and rapala dt series deep divers...any ideas on productive or proven baits...always looking for that off color that produces.

I really like the luhr jenson 3/4 oz hot lips express for 20 feet. I also have a river2sea high dep 88 that I am looking forward to trying more. I just bought it before my last trip but didn't catch anything on it. I weights 1 3/16 oz and has a built in casting system so it will cast a mile. Runs around 15 ft deep. Steve

Not sure if the Luhr Jensen 3/4 Hot Lips Express mentioned above is the same name for the trolling model but the Trolling Model 3/4 Luhr Jensen is the deepest crank I have found. Down to 22 feet with 10lb Flouro.

Strike King 10xd, but you will have to match a rod that will handle the bait at 5+oz. However, some say it doesn't pull much harder than the 6xd.

Honestly I like Spoons and Silver Buddys for deep rivers. You can cast them forever fish them however you like and you can fish them at any depth.

What is the best spoon to fish on Barkley and Ky lakes? What kind of setup do you use and how do you fish it? Thanks in advance!

Lake Fork or Strike Kings flutter spoons....Rip it up off the bottom and let it fall, they let you know it when they hit it....I throw it on a 7'4H Cumara with 65lb braid and a Curado E7 to take up slack quick

If you can get a big Daredevil all silver that is a good bet. Like the previous guy said rip it and let it fall. Mix up the rips. So lake trout spoons work well but they are light!

Ive thrown a few of the 5 and 6xd's before....the chart. shad....liked those pretty well...using a 7'6m crankin stick with pro qualifier 4.7:1....does really well.....dont know if that would be enough to sling a 10xd though....maybe move to 7'10mh?

I've had alot of people persuade me to the spoons...know a few that keep it as a money bait.....myself, i've tried and tried to throw them....sometimes under the wrong conditions....but just can't seem to build any confidence with them.....i think i get a little ansty because i usually go to it after slinging a crankbait for hours and im already in that crankin mode.........any suggestions on retrieval methods aside from the rip n' sink?
