    World's First Computerized Fishing Pole!

This is a new product I developed and would like to get some feedback. I believe this could be good for those that fish with multiple poles.......

The bite alert technology is built into the rod.
You can adjust sensitivity through the rod. There is a High-Med- Low digital readout built into the rod.It will alert with light and sound or light only. The technology is the same that is used in smartphones. I have a couple of videos that demo the rod as well as show it being used in the field. It's also a tool for those of us that have watched many a bell take a trip to Davy Jones Locker from the tip of our pole.

Why do I expect to see you on an up coming episode of "Shark Tank"?

Seriously though, I hope you do well. I always admire the entrepreneurial spirit, and have always found inventions interesting.

Personally when I fish I like a slow pace and often get as much enjoyment from the solitude and peacefulness as I do catching the fish. For myself it is the entire process I enjoy and I like the challenge of feel and sight. However I can see how younger people that grew up with video games, and electronic "everything" might take to your rod. I wish you well.

Well, The Videos Are Well Produced Videos

These videos are very well produced; however, I think they would have been better if they actually showed the rods in action. The videos also don't metion the cost or where to buy these rods. I can see how this technology may help a novice fisherman fishing nightcrawlers or doughballs on a rod holder, but I don't think G-Loomis has much desire to invest in battery operated fishing rods. I've always said "there's a lot of gimmics in fishing (remember the flying lure), but there's no gimmic to a sharp hook"! Just my opinion.

A few years ago, Shimano came out with the DC series of reels............and they now have multiple lines that have "digital control" technology on the reel spools that keep you from back lashing. They are basically guaranteed to NOT back lash...

From videos I've seen, you cannot backlash one.......PERIOD.

    Here is a link:

    Cabela's: Shimano® Calcutta TE® DC Casting Reel

So there is a market for high tech gadgetry in fishing.......With the right manufacturer picking up your digital rod, maybe, just maybe you will become the next megastar in the fishing manufacturing arena.

    I sure hope you do.......

Something to think about though.......a quick search of the "technology" brought me to this......

    Good luck to you.

Why don't you just sell dynamite and take fishing out of the sport entirely. I like the challenge of knowing when you have a bite or not. Sorry not sold

The video called where's my rod on youtube shows the product in the field. Due to the winter we will have to wait for it to warm up for more videos in action. If you go to our sponsered page and click on checkout the smartrod here there is much more information as well as pricing.

I totally understand where you are coming from. I am not wanting to change fishing but only add to the experience. I feel this would be good for fishermen that use multiple poles,or leisure fishing. It's also a tool for those of us that have watched many a bell take a trip to Davy Jones Locker from the tip of our pole. This could possibly help bring more youth from this computer generation into the sport of fishing instead of sitting at home playing video games. It will also assist people with visual and hearing disabilities that fish. My goal was to be able to develop this technology and keep the cost as close to a standard rod of equal quality as possible. I appreciate your honesty.
