I have never attended one. I see there is one in Morehead next weekend. Are they pretty much all the same??

Best to go when you have clogged sinuses. Make a list of the beanie babies you don't have, odds are you can finish out your collection. Under no circumstances miss the pork rinds or eat anything containing mayonaisse.

Some are better than others but honestly, i don't think now would be a good time to visit my first. I have heard of some deals on nice fudd guns lately, so depending on what you are looking for.

Same format, but a lot of variances really. The more rural shows tend to have a lot more bartering and trading going on, I think. There is one down in Cave City that I've been to, one in Somerset, one in Morehead, and the frequent Kenny Woods Gun & Knife Shows at Heritage Hall.

But dude...now is not the time for your first gun show.

My uncle went to the show this Saturday morning at Heritage Hall. He said that the line was 5-wide and stretched from the door to the hall the show as in, all the way down the hallway, out the door, around the side of the building, into the parking lot, and snaked its way through cones all the way out past the Cox Street Bridge. That's probably a 300 yard line as the crow flies, 500 yards if you straighten it out.

That's the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard.

He said that once inside, it was literally elbow to elbow, couldn't see the tables, a constant battle. Ammo was going for five and six times normal pricing and bare bones AR-15's, with the cheapest components available, were selling for $1500-2000. Insanity.

I'd let it calm down a bit.

And honestly, I've rarely bought guns at the gun show. If you're looking for antiques, oddball stuff, weird components, reloading supplies, bulk ammo, cheap holsters and what nots, etc - The gun shows are really cool. If you're looking for new guns, it's no different than walking into Bud's or Antique & Modern, really. Same prices, sometimes higher, and not much dickering on the price with the new guns.

And there's also a ton of crap.

Every military surplus item from WWII and Vietnam you can think of, people sharpening knives, making candles, putting guards on your gutters, offering you back massages...you name it. It's like a Egyptian Street Market full of rednecks. LOL You usually couldn't swing a dead cat in a gun show without hitting a target or tee-shirt with Osama Bin Laden on it. That has cooled....but Barry-O has taken his place! LOL
