    Question question

Why do some folks "cut and paste" before a reply?

    Smile that

the later is what I consider, Back when I was a youngun. Sister Mary Mayhem showed us her displeasure with an answer that began with the question.Brevity was golden, when correct, sometimes led to "pink palms" when you began to be obtuse.

Question Why do folks cut and paste in reply The reason some folks cut and paste is? Isn't that asking the question to give an answer?

For me it's so the person knows I'm replying to their post if there are more that one posts on that thread. I'm only chiming in be because when this new format first came out I could not reply without using the reply with quote option. Once I changed my display format on this page I could reply by using the "reply to thread" icon.
I actually thought you were kidding or trying to egg someone into a discussion/gripe session at first. I figured this because you have been on here as a regular and I thought you had posted with a quote before?? So that to me meant you knew how to use the options.

I agree with the others. Sometimes I use it so it is known what post I am replying to. It happens automatically if you hit reply with quote. I see what younare saying though. Kind of like the foreign tech support people that answer your question by - repeating your name - repeating the question and then not answering your question.

Initially we had it set up differently but it was pointed out that it was comfusing for its own reasons.
