Oregon would have been the only non SEC team with a chance to make it to the final game but they could not have held up against Bama or Georgia in the later stages of a game.

I was nervous for the longest time that Bama would have to play Georgia in the final. From what I saw of their play they were the only team who could had beaten Bama in a Nat'l Championship game.

I completely disagree, that is just more hype. There is no way five teams from the SEC would have been in an 8 team playoff. LSU and Florida both lost their bowl games against teams they were heavily favored over. Georgia was taken to the wire. What we might see in a playoff, something that could easily happen yet people don't want to think about, is in a playoff, you might have no teams from the SEC in the championship. This is something we have no way of knowing, but I sure wish it was settled on the field.

As for teams in the future, you better watch out for USC in a couple of years. There recruiting is through the roof lately. They had 13 future players in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl including a stud quarterback.
