I have been to Guntersville over a dozen times and its going to be good anytime. The spawn will start in March and go thru early May. I have seen bass on beds in mid-March and I have seen them on beds in early May. Just depends where you are. The lower lake is probably the most popular year in and year out. The mid lake section is the second most popular between the Sauty creeks. And a few people like the upper lake around Crow Creek and Mud creek. Its shallower there and alot different but doesnt get as much fishing pressure. I have had several double digit keeper days in Mud Creek but its dangerous if you don't take your time running after you go under the first bridge.

In my experience the best time to go for numbers is May but the best time for big fish is March. March is good for numbers as well but weather can make for a slow trip. But even a bad day there is better than a good day here once you get to know the lake. I think Mid April would be the worst time when fish are just coming off the beds by early May late April its still post-spawn but they seem to be biting better.

All good information. Best advice i can give you is ride down on Sunday and fish Monday-Thursday. That place is a zoo on the weekends. Heck, last year we arrived on Thursday and they had a 150 boat tournament going out of Goose Pond and it wasnt even a major circuit like Everstart or Bass Open.

This is excellent advice, if you want to fish a weekend try nearby Weiss Lake. It doesn't have the monster bass like G-ville but it's still pretty doggone good. If you like catching linesides it's better than G-ville.
