    Duck Pond today

Kevin and I fished the duck pond this morning , only got one sauger ! And we got very wet!! I heard they were killing them in there yesterday..Just my luck , always a day late . I forgot my gloves and my hands were numb. I was gonna try the deep hole under the power lines at the lower spillway , but I was just too cold to fish any longer. The 1 fish i got was on a blade bait

a blade bait is a flat fish shaped piece of metal with a lead belly. the tip of the tail has a sleight bend in it that makes it flutter on the up stroke in fall to the side on the down fall. it is very effective vertical jigging but is hard to fish on a cast and retreive because it snags easy on a retreive. Silver Buddys are one kind and I think bass pro makes one. I hope this helps.

Bassmaster magazine has a good article (and photos) on blade baits and effective ways to fish them as well.
January edition, buy one at Kroger's or look it up on line..

Boat required as well as extreme caution. I also believe it was the location of the swimming death there a few years back.

yes if you don`t know how to get into the Duck Pond you might lose a lower unit,,,the opening is very small and alot of current to fight with out getting thrown into the rocks,,,VERY TRICKY
