It's always been low, but that's low, low. But the problem is, the same voters who will give Congress an 11% approval rating will give THEIR OWN Congressperson a 75% approval rating. It's always the nitwits those other guys elected.

In the end, voters get the government they deserve. We have the power, we're just not informed or organized enough to overcome the corruption of the two-party system.

I totally agree with this. We get what we vote for and the people are to blame.

I'm trying to do my part by voting out ALL incumbents with no exceptions the last 2 elections, but I can't do it on my own.

Did the same and will continue. I don't see a situation where I would change that opinion.

What happened to the philosophy of voting for the best man that I'm always hearing people yapping about, I usually find myself voting for the lesser of two evils.

Hmmm... So our officials should be appointed instead of elected... I believe that has been tried in several places around the world and as far as I'm concerned, we seem to have a better system them most of them... If we ever give up our right to vote our great country is finished.

How in the world do you jump to "officials should be appointed rather than elected"? I'm all for electing officials; I just want candidates that haven't already been bought and sold, and won't be.

I agree with you completely but your quote seemed to say if there isn't a good candidate then it is best to vote for nobody and like it or not we got what we got, even if you have to vote then puke it is better than not voting.

There are almost always 3rd party candidates to give you another option. As long as we keep voting for someone who makes us puke, that's what we are going to get.

    strict term limits

Federal, state county and city politicians should be limited BY VOTERS to two terms in the same office.Voting them out for ever could cause more concern than benefits. If a guy does a great job as dog catcher, and chooses to run for another office, it may be a benefit. More than likely it will insure that the "peter principal" will come into play early in a career.Cronyism is a big problem with entrenched politicians
