How is the fishing below Wolf Creek Dam?

Haven't had an opportunity to get out this winter yet. Planning on fishing below the dam this coming weekend as long as they push enough water I can launch my boat. Might be the last chance I get :-(

Would like to catch a few saugar/walleye for the pan and maybe even score a nice 5+ lb brown - if there are any left....

Not sure if I'll have a chance to grab any minnows on the way down. Is the bait shop up on 127 still open?

Anybody been having any luck there this winter?

The bait shop is a Valero station now, I believe.

Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service: Louisville: Cumberland River at Lake Cumberland

This says that the lake is going to crest at 688, and TVA: Wolf Creek says they are running basically wide open 24 hours a day. The river has hit 560 a few times over the last week, so I'd think Foggy Bottom, Helms Landing, and possibly Winfrey's Ferry are either inaccessible or risky to launch, so the Kendall's Ramp is your best bet.

Would these places be risky to launch because the river is too low?

I am really wanting to take my Father down there to fish, but I really have no idea what I am doing, as I have only been there twice.

He was prob inferring it would be too high at those places if wide open. The day I posted the didn't start generating until 4pm and I can't launch my 23 ft boat then. Calling for about 13k now which is about half throttle and great for dam fishing. Could change daily so keep an eye out.
