    Software developer outsources own job....

....to China and pockets the salary difference.

BBC News - US employee 'outsourced job to China'

The story is pretty interesting, but it's also a striking example of how - in this global economy connected by advanced communications - salaries are out of balance and will adjust themselves.

This guy probably didn't do any of the other employees working there any favors by demonstrating that someone else will do the same work for a fraction of the pay.

Oddest part of the whole story.

The software developer, in his 40s, is thought to have spent his workdays surfing the web, watching cat videos on YouTube and browsing Reddit and eBay.
LOL, the guy spent most of his time watching cat videos?

Would have been funny if they would have said that he spent most of his time posting on fishin.com hehe

1 man outsources his job to china and he is fired and considered a criminal. Hundreds of US business do this every single day and its considered "Good business practice".

This explains EXACTLY how Geo gets to fish so much. He was sitting on the lake while Xing Xang Xong was writing all of the programs that George was taking the credit.

It was actually a security issue. He gave unauthorized access into his company's computer network to a Chinese company.

    A big difference.

He let other developers and programmers access his company's computer network when they weren't authorized to do so. That's a fireable offense. It doesn't have anything to do whether it was China or not. Even if he let some guy from the next building over into their computer network he should have been fired.

Who has authorization is not what I was getting at, my point is that there are 3rd world countries that have access to Millions of Americans personal and financial information already.

Yes but in the post I was referencing, you said he was fired. I was pointing out that his firing had nothing to do with the people being Chinese and therefore didn't understand your comparison to companies who outsource.
