Hola mi amigos. Just got back from a remote location in Mexico trying to make some money to support my family, my fishing habit, and Mr. Obama. There may be a few things wrong with America, but it's **** good to be back.
Sometimes I screw up and it's a good thing.
Along with 4 colleagues, I went through immigration in Houston and got my customs form stamped at the counter. Off we go to get our bags and make for the connecting flight to Nashvegas in the B terminal (we were in the D terminal). We get to the customs line (complete with bomb sniffing dog) and my stamped customs form is gone. Vanished. Tried to get thru anyway, but the dude ain't buying it...no stamp, no pass. The other 4 continue without my dumb ass.
Anyhow I managed to swim upstream back to the immigration counters without getting shot and get a new form stamped. You sure get lot of attention from security officers walking backward under all those big red WRONG WAY DO NOT ENTER signs.
After finally clearing customs I put my bag in the domestic system and decide to take the little underground subway train to the B terminal instead of the big overhead shuttle. Went through security at the airline check in counter entrance in B and just barely made the flight. My colleagues got snared in a God awful security line trying to get to the overhead shuttle in D and they are sitting in Houston trying to catch a standby flight home.
Whew!
The not so endearing texts I got from my co travelers are not fit to print here.
Sounds like you had a fun trip!!! Hahaha.....And I agree 100% with ya man. There is alot wrong with this country but IMO it's still the best place to live. I travelled alot in my life and I do look forward to coming back home. Heck my last trip to a foreign place was less than grand, I didn't follow the language well, people were rude, things were just dirty looking and I never felt comfy...that's one of my last trips to Florida!!!! Hahahaha
