A message from our PTUS
You guys are having trouble with your TV sets or what ever else you nuse to communicate. Its ALL bulls--t! Has been for the past 40 years, and still you listen. What ever happened to believe half of what you see, and nothing you hear? For those who watched or listened[I didn't,read a book] you weren't going to belief it. So why bother? Some of you listened and maybe believed some of what he said. A heck of a lot of us know whats wrong with this country, and guess what, We CAN'T change it.
I didn't watch or listen to any of it...I won't either. Last night I watched my recorded shows from my DVR and stayed away from news and sports. I'm sure the tv coverage will go on for a few months about it. Did they have a big military showing of tanks and men marching by??? Planes and helicopters flying by? You know like they did for the other dictator....ahh what's his name??? Had a funny little mustache........You guys are having trouble with your TV sets or what ever else you nuse to communicate. That is a start.
I find it hard to believe that some folks abhor reading. My son who is a teacher, would rather have a root canal than pick up a book. My daughter says since the last son left for college, her TV is only on when her husband comes home,he[like my son] is not a reader.Hard to figure, his mom was a profesor at Purdue, english, and an avid "junk book" reader. Were fortunate to have a pretty good large print section here at glasgow, sure takes the strain off the peepers. The librarian in burkesville was, as I am a LE Carre reader, every new book in that genre, he was sure to mention to me.
I've read almost all fiction genres at one time or another including a couple of LeCarre's spy books.I find it hard to believe that some folks abhor reading. There have been very few times since grade school when I didn't have a book of some kind going. Often several in different places at once. My folks in Alabama keep books for me to read when I visit. It took me over 4 years to read "The Sea Wolf" a chapter or 2 at a time at my sisters'. Started Follet's "Pillars of the Earth" epic there but I may not live long enough to finish that one. Got through "Clan of the Cave Bear" (for the ladies, but pretty good anyway) in roughly the same time period at mama's.
Do y'all have audio books in the lib over there? I keep one checked out for my truck, beats the radio most of the time. Got an old Mickey Spillane "Mike Hammer" audio book in the truck right now. Hammer is one hard bitten tough guy for sure.
