Trapping

I have always considered convential trapping to but somewhat uncivilzed but a necessary evil as well. I always said I would never do it but after watching KyAfield yesterday I may be re-thinking it..

Beavers and Otters are getting out of control in my opinion. Otters are destroying small water ways and totally cleaning the creeks out of fish................Yes its getting that bad do some research.

Here's my question, do any of you trap and if so, what kind of money can a person make?? I need not another money pit, but if its actually profitable I may just give it a try on a fairly small scale..

Trapping for coyotes and foxes is not easy, but beaver trapping can be easy at certain times of the year. If you can find a beaver hut on frozen lake, simply placing traps under the ice around the hut will yeild beavers. As far as making money it is pretty tough. Back in the day furs paid well like a $100 for a big beaver, now i believe you can maybe get $25 or so per pelt.

I hear ya Bro and its going to get worse. This was the most BONEHEAD thing the KDFW has EVER DONE.

I mean seriously Terranasorous Rex's...(SPELLING) were here at one time to, if they were available would we re-introduce them back to the wild to, LOL...

The department is down playing and ignoring this Otter thing beacuse they have major Egg all over there face. The Otters are laying the smack down on Cedar Creek to. Several families of Otters are being seen, give it time and see what they do. They eat fish everyday and can catch fish with the ease of nothing you have ever seen...

I've heard some guys saying they have all but completely seigned some small creeks in Southeast Ky...

Otters have ruined my favorite stretch of Elkhorn.

I was fishing the Cardome pool of elkhorn last year and ran into a guy trapping from a boat. I didn't ask what he was setting traps for but hopefully it was otters. Steve
