    Beavers are not the problem

Beavers do not eat fish; they are herbivores. The otters are the problem and they really have no predators to keep them at bay on the local creeks.

Ky hunting has a forum for trappers. I dont trap, but find it interesting and look at it often. I think u could find all the help u need on getting started and findind if it is worth the time and money. Heard it is very addictive once u start.

Actually on larger water the beaver dams are great structure. I remember a buddy of mine and I catching a lot of crappie at a beaver dam on Patoka.

I absolutley hate leg holding traps

To each their own, I actually saw some in a path the other night that we ride on when coonhunting on mules. I've had 1 dog get it's foot cut off by one years ago & another get caught & thankfully had a tracking system & got them out without to much damage. They were baiting them by hanging freshly killed chickens over them tied to a tree & staked in place with some very big & strong traps staked & concealed right below. Someone else must have found them too as my buddy was setting at home the other day & the sherriff comes knocking on the door with the trapper accusing us of tearing his traps up after he supposedly saw someone on his game cameras.. We never bothered them though as much as I hate them, but if your gonna be accused because of telling him we saw his traps while hunting there guess I'm gonna have to help him out a little with removal. He has them set on every farm around that will let us hunt on mules within 5 miles of my house & can't even hunt a farm I have permission on that joins my property. Sorry for the rant, but some of the crap some trappers do is pitiful. Baiting with chickens & setting them in paths which the path thing is illegal if it's a path used by humans & domestic animals. If I p*ssed some trappers off I really don't care. The thing is some are simply irresponsible
