Love the cooking segments on the shows. keep them coming.
Good afternoon mhall!! Hey, just responding to your post, we average one cooking segment per 7 or 8 shows. Our viewing audience is varied. We can look at our responses and see what people like, and we try to please everyone. Many people from the non-hunting world really think that when we shoot a deer, we just take the trophy rack and kick the rest over the hill. I want to show how you can utilize that wonderful meat, (be it fin, fur, or feather), and utilize it for the table. We have varied shows that travel through all walks of life, and we have four guys that work hard to share all things outdoors with our viewers. Thanks TimRemember what I said, we all like him and apprecaite very much what he brings to the table. He is awesome with the work he has done inspiring many to keep their chin in the game after terrible loss of limbs and other medical set backs. However the cooking gig is getting over the top, I want to see hunting and fishing, I'm not tuning in so I can become Martha flippin Stewart..
I hear ya and I may have to check you on that show to cooking segment ratio....Good afternoon mhall!! Hey, just responding to your post, we average one cooking segment per 7 or 8 shows. I never miss the show, watched it yesterday. I appreciate you and all the department has done. I am honest and said what I thought and won't back from it and thats fine. I wasn't the only guy that said it either and know others that think it may be too much at times. You seem to be genuine and I will watch the show regardless. Your bow shooting skills amaze me BTW with the way you have to do it.
Harold Knight told us....''Boys..You don't want ole Farmer shootin at ya with a Bow''...........And he's right.
Welcome to the site and do me a favor. Go and knock at least three KNOTS on every person or person's in the Department head that had anything to do with letting Otters go in this state. Thanks.
Have a nice day Tim...
Tim, sometimes I think that you would eat a fried turd....lol just kiddin. I always look forward to KY Afield on Saturdays and then again on Sunday. My favorites are smallmouth fishing on Dale, Cumberland and Laurel. Thanks for the advice and good entertainment.
Welcome to the forum Tim. I met you a few years back at the boat show in Louisville and you signed and personalized your photo to my Dad. You also chatted with my husband and me for a few minutes about mushroom hunting. When I gave my Dad your autographed photo back home in Alabama he looked at it and said "Now who's that boy?" After I briefed him a little about you and your show it must have aroused his curiosity a little and he watched a few of your youtube videos and I'd record Ky Afield and send him copies of the show. He must have liked you because he later said "That ole boy seems like he's all right." Coming from a guy that sometimes struggled not to be an overprotective Dad and also considering I'm his only daughter, that is the ultimate complement. I lost him a couple of years back but when I watch your show it makes me remember him. Thank you so much for that personalized autograph, that short amount of your time made a forever memory for me.
Regarding Dave Shuffett, I've had conservations with Dave (AKA Mudcat around here) on multiple occasions. He is a very kind person, a gentleman through and through as well as a very intelligent individual. Because of Mudcat I am a fan of Kentucky Life too. As an Alabama native I will also say that Kentucky is very fortunate to have both Tim and Dave as ambassadors.
Does anyone know the mans name that hosted Ky Afield before Dave? According to what I understand, Dave had to step into some very large shoes when he started hosting the show.
He absolutely did.
Hope Carleton is a KY outdoors legend and hosted KY Afield from 1957-1980. I knew him a little bit through a classmate of mine. He was just as he seemed on camera. Friendly, a little rough around the edges, but always a great conversationalist.
Welcome to the site Tim. Lots a good folks on here.Been watchin since the early 70's.Most of my friends were watching cartoons that early in the morning...I was gettin the run down on the lakes LOL. Hope to run into you on the river sometime. Chuck
I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one who sat in front of the TV on saturday morning and watched fishing shows instead of cartoons as a kid
I remember watching Hope at my grandfather's house in Louisville when we would visit him on Brown's Lane, never dreaming I would be lucky enough to have this once in a lifetime job! Funny how life shuts doors and opens others....See you on the water!!! Tim
Hey Tim,
I would like to see you guys run the Tim Farmer Archery Classic episode again, and again, and again. lol
