I live in farm country and I know of no farmers that are for free trade. The farmer gets crap for what they sell and the grocery stores mark everything up out of sight. Look in the paper and see how much hogs or cattle are selling for. You want to bad mouth the farmers maybe you should try growing your food! I am sure that you know all about it since you think you know everything else.

Then who the heck passed it?No they dont want free trade. They want cotton subsidys, the defunct tobbacco buy outs,They profit fron corn subsidys to some extent.I dont know much about farming, but I do know they have thier hands out a lot. Who brought the wet backs here? Do they pay any of the health costs for them sticking around here. I've got in laws that havn't grown a cotton crop for years, and they get a check. What I'm getting at is this, a lot of folks think that social security, and medicare are the only entitlements in this coutry. There are a heck of a lot more hands out than that, that are tax payer supported. I cant recall many times when I have seen more cattle here in the fields of ky. And ground chuck sells for 3.25 a pound. Where do these high prices come from? I dont know about now, but once I was a salemen for HJ Hienz, talking to several managers of grocery stores, they operate at a profit margin of about 3%. Have you read anything about that suit against dary farmers of america co-op. Were paying almost 4 bucks a gallon for milk, and smaller dairy farms are going out of business because of low milk prices. NAFTA,working people didn't want it. Some are saying farmers didn't want it, how did it help unions? If no one wanted it, how the hell did it get here? Think maybe some politicians sold out to special interests?

Well in the spirit of Liberals everywhere....I don't care for tomatoes so they should be banned or at the very least taxes so high no one would buy them. Dang things are disgusting and smell and attract bugs!!!
on a serious note we grow our own and between the friends that grow them and what we have I bet we toss 1/3 of them out because we don't eat them. We don't can anything but with the way this freaking country has been run by incompetent tools for the last 30 years we may start!!!! You never know what is going to happen next.
