You can just block the ads

For those that are interested, there are ways around targeted advertising, at least if you're running Firefox or Chrome (and if you're using IE, you deserve what you get). First off, there are AdBlock addons available for both browsers. But they both also have ones that are specifically designed to block the targeted ads. The one for Firefox is called Targeted Advertising Cookie Opt-Out, or TACO, and the one for Chrome is a web extension you can get here:Google offers Chrome extension to opt out of targeted Ads | ZDNet
