    Ky Lake info

    Anybody fishing Ky Lake?
If so, what has the bite been on bama rig, jerkbait, or cranking shorelines?

Check fishing reports on here to see if Dave Stewart has posted any recent information. Good luck down there.

I was out on Thursday doing some filming and we caught bass in the current breaks on the main lake on suspending jerkbaits and on primary points and the first secondary points in the east side bays on jigs. The pattern was rock. Did not throw the A rig but I have talked to a lot of folks that are catching them deep on the A-rig. I will write a report today or tomorrow. Water temp was 49 degrees on Thursday morning.

Btw Dave, I was going to ask you about the new Strike King 10XD crank bait. You may not feel obligated to answer this which is understandable, but is there a need for a crank bait that can run 25ft deep? I have tried to do a little ledge fishing with little succes due to ignorance but I just wondered does a person need to hit bottom at 25ft while drop fishing? I am sure they would cast a mile but would it be worth the effort?

There are certainly times that a 25ft deep diver will produce fish. Many of the locals here have been doctoring crankbaits for years to get them down that deep. I personally know some locals that have won some big tournaments doing that during the ledge season.

BTW I have no problem with giving my opinion to anyone that asks on any question about bass fishing. You can ask it here or give me a call or send me a pm or email. Also, if you are struggling with the ledge fishing, be aware that I do a focused teaching trip on ledge fishing if you would like to get some professional assistance in learning to fish ledges.

Thanks Dave, didn't know if you wanted to comment on a brand product like Strike King knowing they do big buisness in WKy due to the popularity of the 2 great lakes we have. Your opinion does influence a lot of fishermen rather you are aware of it or not, myself never meeting you but have heard your name mentioned a bunch (in good terms btw). I would love to do a trip or class and maybe someday I will be able too.
